Vitamin E Face Mask with Avocado & Honey - By Justine Jenkins

Our skin in winter has to battle many elements so if you need a good hydration and skin protection boost, here is a quick and simple face mask you can make at home from items in your kitchen. Avocados are rich in fatty acids, vitamins and minerals making it a high ranking natural skincare product. When applied directly, Manuka honey is a rich source of Vitamin E and provides treatment for skin conditions such as eczema, helps reduce scarring and repairs and protects the skin. Recipe: 1 bowl and 1 fork (or a blender) 1 ripe avocado I teaspoon of Manuka honey 1 teaspoon Olive or Sesame oil or a vitamin E capsule (optional addition for extra dry skin) 2 strained chamomile tea bags (optional extra for tired puffy eyes) Method: Mash or blend together the flesh of one avocado and a teaspoon of Manuka honey. Press onto cleansed skin, lie back and relax for 20 minutes. If you want an extra treat, place 2 strained chamomile tea bags over your eyes whilst the mask works its magic. The chamomile herb reduces puffiness and soothes tired eyes.  Rinse off the mask with tepid water and apply your favourite moisturiser. Top Tips: Put the mask in the fridge for a few minutes before applying for an extra cooling effect. If your skin is incredibly dry, add to the mask a tablespoon of sesame or olive oil.
