Alkaline Foods To Be Eating This Spring

So supposedly the first day of Spring starts on 20th March. Spring is certainly in the air though and with that we should be looking at the ingredients that we are filling our fridges and cupboards with.

  • Avocados
  • Mangos
  • Spring Greens
  • Spring Onions
  • Blood Oranges
  • Watercress
  • Wild Garlic
  • Kale
  • Salsify
The first dishes that spring to mind with these ingredients are Asian salads with mango, spring onions and avocado, or hearty English style with kale and chargrilled purple sprouting broccoli salads with seeds and a wild garlic dressing. One of these ingredients that you must try though is spring greens. They are so versatile and are packed with vitamin’s C & K. Slice them really finely and sauté with some ginger, chilli and garlic and finish off with a splash of tamari and a squeeze of lime.  Mix through some sprouts and top with roast aubergine, a few chunks of mango and a generous sprinkling of chopped coriander. Here are some recipes to go for at the moment that will help you to make the most of what the season has to offer.
