My Food Diary
I have had such a full on but fun week this week. I spent three days in the kitchen making food for a shoot - I have been completely in my element with incredible summer produce. We did our whole shoot outside in the garden basking in sunshine and surrounded by beautiful flowers. What could be better?
BREAKFAST: Cleansing Green Juice & a Matcha Green Tea Protein Bar
On Monday morning I took myself to a yoga class at The Power Yoga company. After a really soothing class with light pouring in the windows I went to the beautiful little cafe that they have upstairs. I ordered a juice and a matcha green tea protein bar for breakfast and left feeling bright, upbeat and healthy!
AM SNACK: Apricot & Chia Protein Balls
Some of you might have seen that I recently posted the recipe for these. I had a stash left in the fridge so we all had a quick little snack on them with a cup of rooibos tea before moving on to the next shot. Did just the trick to pick the team up. Try making these for the kids now that they are on holiday - they make a really tasty and healthy snack.
LUNCH: Roast Vegetables with Green Salad
One of the recipes that we were shooting called for an array of really beautiful roast vegetables. We had some amazing heirloom carrots, celeriac and beetroot all roasted up with sunflower oil and spices. We then had them for lunch with a simple zesty green salad. Simple food made delicious.
DINNER: Spent at The Modern Pantry
I have heard so much about the Modern Pantry lately and had a flick through their cookbook the other day. Finally managed to go earlier in the week and had the most delicious salad with gooseberries and creamy goats cheese. They also had this insane quinoa cracker bread. Really recommend going there for brunch at the weekend or a nice romantic dinner in the evening sun. It's in Clerkenwell so check it out if you are London based.
