Three easy ways to alkalise your body by Laura Bond
Helping you to alkalise your body for us is a mission, so we thought it would be useful for you to know three easy ways to alkalise your body.
1) Have an alkaline bath. Fill your tub with magnesium flakes and soak up the goodness. Do you want to know where to get them? A company called Better You makes them and sells them online, otherwise you can go to Planet Organic to get some. Why Magnesium? Magnesium is the most alkalising mineral – it’s also good for your heart, your bones, your digestion and for lowering stress.
According to this Oxford University research, "humans need to consume magnesium regularly to prevent magnesium deficiency, but as the recommended daily allowance for magnesium varies, it is difficult to define accurately what the exact optimal intake should be. Values of ≥300 mg are usually reported with adjusted dosages for age, sex and nutritional status. The Institute of Medicine recommends 310–360 mg and 400–420 mg for adult women and men, respectively. Other recommendations in the literature suggest a lower daily minimum intake...".
It’s hard to get enough magnesium from food, because the soil is so depleted in this key mineral. But the ocean is still alive with magnesium. So another great way to replenish your stores AND alkalize the body is to go for a dip in the sea. 2) Jump on a mini trampoline, it will boost circulation and get oxygen flowing around your body. When you’re moving, you’re breathing off fast evaporating acids, so the lungs fill and the acids offload as you bounce. 3) Go Barefoot to get alkaline. There are 7000 nerve endings in the sole of the foot and when you touch the ground you flood your body with feel-good free electrons. These electrons neutralise free radicals in the body, which cause inflammation and acidity. If you are planning a vacation, find yourself a beautiful island where you can go barefoot every day and everywhere, take a look at places like Hydra in Greece and Stromboli (one of the Eolian islands) in Italy off the coast of Sicily. The American Indians believe that when we began building footpaths, roads and driving everywhere in cars we lost the ability to heal ourselves.
